The Clarens Brewery is situated in the heart of this little Free State town.
It offers locals and visitors that are passing through the opportunity to sample a selection of the seven standard ales, the ciders, the liqueurs and spirits, and the special seasonal ales that make their way onto the menu from time to time.
The standard options comprise a blonde, Indian Pale Ale, Weiss, English ale, stout, red and 1912 American Pale Ale. Seasonal favourites include Smash (a fruity single malt), Pukka Porter (an exquisite dark beer that has been flavoured with vanilla pods soaked in bourbon) and Clarens Goes Nuts (a brown ale infused with hazelnuts).
Cherry, pineapple and apple ciders are the perfect way to refresh and tantalise the taste buds. In addition, whiskey, apple brandy and the Red Stone liqueurs are produced at the Clarens Brewery.
The menu at Clarens Brewery supplies tasty dishes, German sausages, meatballs, cold meat platters, platters of sausages with freshly-baked breads, cheese platters, focaccia with relishes, or a hearty goulash soup.
This inviting brewery has a modern, warm ambience and enjoys it gorgeous location at the foot of the magnificent Maluti Mountains.
Tastings and brewery tours are conducted free of charge.
Thursday and Monday open from 10h00 to 18h00
